Just finished installing the upper intake and found this pile of clips.... Do I need them or will I be ok running without them?

Well, they help hold the injectors in place and given the consequences of an injector falling out and spraying fuel all over the engine, I know what I'd be doing!

Some engines from different makes and models don't use them. If the fuel rail is rigid enough and secured in enough places they aren't really needed. That being said, a little extra security never hurt. I'd hate to have an engine fire over saving 45 minutes of pulling the upper intake again.

The manifold is very secure and the injectors were stuck in it, but.... I decided it was well worth the 30 min it took to pull it and install the clips. Thanks for the reality check, a fire under the hood is not worth it!
