Default How long should my drive cycle go

I had 4 codes, and I just replaced my MAF last week. I cleared my codes and I have driven 60 miles and everything is looking great right now. How long should I wait to go to emissions??

You should be fine.
There is a way to set the drive cycle in one day, it is in the RAVE manual if you have it, other wise try Googling (resetting Land Rover drive cycle) it.

Hey Spike, does this sound right?

it varies from vehicle to vehicle and monitors but for a disco one do the following.

the vehicle cant be warmed up so do it when its cold.

turn the key on for thirty seconds.

then start the vehicle and let idle for two minutes.

perform two slow accelerations from 0 to 30.

perform two medium accerlerations from 0 to 45.

perform two heavy accelerations from 0 to 55

then drive at 55 mph for eight minutes without the cruise on.

then drive for five minutes at 35 mph.

restart vehicle and sit for three minutes and recheck for drive monitors to be clear.

heres a little hint before performing the accelerations, idle the vehicle at 2000 rpms for three minutes and then 1000 rpms for two minutes and then do the other steps afterward.

basically its city driving with some highway driving.

this is only for a disco one. a disco two is different.

The last time I had to get smogged the guy told me that once I fixed the problem to put at least 80 miles on it and bring it back in.

I went to emmisions about 5 miles after I replaced the MAF and Failed. I get one free retest in CT, so I need to make sure that I pass this time. Does it matter if I do highway, or city. Or drive it hard??

I don't think it matters what type of miles they are. The smog inspector told me 80 but if you want to be safe put on around 150 and if your SES light is still off you should be fine.

distance doesnt matter at all... its about the way its driven... the cycle above is correct, but for it to work right it has to be done correctly, also, between each of the accells dont use the brakes, let it slow down on its own to about 10 or so then stop. this will not set the evap monitor... it has to go through a warm up cycle and then sit for several hours(overnight)
