Default How much for a DII T-Case?

Got a line on a transmission/transfer case out of an '01 Disco that had 102K when it was wrecked. It HAS the CDL nipple that I am missing in my '02. I have no obvious issues with my Transmission, other than some sluggish shifting on occaision (assuming fluid and filter need to be changed out), but my T-case solenoid is out and doesn't have CDL capabilities.

Seller wants $550 for both, what say you? Fair? Should I jump on this deal?

I would go for it. $550 sounds reasonable for both a tranny and TC

Why do it? you don't know what shape it is in, why not just buy the CDL nose assembly for under $400 and install it on your t/case?

Ashcroft sells the front housing and linkage as a kit.

Based on Josh's (jycsalas) write up about switching the front housing, it looks to be quite the chore, would paying roughly the same amount to get the same result. So it would be down to which one is less of a PITA to complete....

So my options to get CDL :

225 Pounds = ~$400(?) + Shipping from the UK ($$$) (does Ashcrof have the kit available to ship from the US? I did a quick search and didn't see anything)

...or

$550 America Dollars for a transmission & transfer case, then I could sell the unused transmission & my old transfer case to make a little extra cash back...

It is a lot easier to add the CDL which can be bought from Toddco.

$550 seems high to me. I bought a 2002 T/C if I'm correct with 54,000 for $350 shipped on eBay. It was in nice shape. Came from a Land Rover dealer in TX. It has the CDL all that stuff. I'm going to put the front output shaft in my 2003. You might shop around a little more Yolo.
Then I'm going to put my front output back in the T/C and sell it for $$350 - $400 back on eBay and get my CDL for $50. What I paid for the top linkage from a D1.

Thank you everyone for your input, I'm VERY glad I asked. I'm going to pass on this one I found and hold out for a little while longer, since I don't need or have room for the extra transmission to hang out while I try and sell it. Maybe get around to fixing my solenoid so I can at least get it into 4Lo and just stick to depending on the TC for now.
