huh?
well, mine has a v8, i did not know that in 2000 a v6 was even an option. lol i get it now. And yes i 4by with mine. In montana we don't call it 4-wheeling, we call it 4byin'. But yes you were crystal clear and thank you for real.
Yeah, it was really dumb naming in North America by Land Rover
In the ROW;
Discovery 1
Discovery 2
Discovery 3
Discovery 4
Freelander
Freelander 2
Here it's;
Freelander
LR2
Discovery 1
Discovery 2
LR3
LR4
So are LR3 and LR4 follow-on from LR2 or Discovery 2? What would be the logical assumption?
I know what they are, but sometimes I want to slap Land Rover.

I will agree with this. The Freelander failed horribly. They had to rename it for the US market.
I'm pretty sure it was the LR3 name that came first. I read they wanted to impress on people that it had virtually nothing in common with the Discovery II and that it was an entirely new vehicle. Of course every where else it was called the Discovery III. I think most people agree they should have kept the Disco moniker since they are British and it has that heritage thing going for it but too late now.
Then came the LR2 which sort of made sense until they came out with the LR4, I guess because they didn't want to call it the LR3 II which sounds like weak beer here in the US. But this sort of paints the LR2 into a corner. I mean, where's it gonna go from here, LR2 II, LR2B??
