Default I finally did it.

I am putting some pictures of the conversion in my album!!
I converted my EFI to Carburetor and coil packs to distributor!! I have read so much downing this type of conversion but let me say it was well worth my blood, sweat, tears, money, headache, and money. Did I mention money? I chose to cam my 4.0 with an Iskey performance cam, went with a Holley 600 cfm 4barrel, Intake off of a 1962 Buick Skylark, and I couldn't be happier. I eliminated all sensors and ECM, simple ignition system, distributor out of a 94 RR LWB. Any comments or questions are welcome!!!

It cost me about $1500 for the conversion alone, a little more for all the other stuff. Mpg's are around 14-15hwy. Performance is great, and simplicity is bliss.

Simplicity would be bliss, unfortunately spike not all D1,s are carburetor engines. The 96 and 98 I have with all the sensors drive me crazy if something happens, of course the computers never throw codes. I might do what your doing on one and try it out just for the hell of it.

That's exactly why i converted over to carb, the dealer had my truck for two weeks and could not figure out what was wrong with it. Now i can handle the repairs myself with shop tools.

have you tried it out on any steep hills (over 40 degrees)? Did you install an off-road jets and set the floats for steep inclines?

I haven't done anything to the carb yet, normally I stick to trail riding without very steep inclines. If I do find it a problem I will change them out.

It would be very easy for you to add LPG to it now.
