So, I find out on Atlantic British that ALL Disco IIs with leather seats have heater coils in them!!! Is that true? Anyone purchased the switch kit to activate their heated seats? I'm interested. I live in the mountains and it does get nippy.

 

I've been told that it's true. I just don't know what it takes to make them work. Sorry, not much help.

 

I just bought the heated seat switch kit from atlantic british. I installed the switches and no heat comes out of the seats. My Discovery is a 2000 SD model with leather. Maybe the SD doesn't get the heating elements, the wiring is there though. I e-mailed atlantic british for info. twice about buying heating element and recieved no responce. So I e-mailed Rovers North and they replied promptly. The bottom element is $32.59 ea. and the seat back element is $46.55 ea. So I think I will go with Rovers North. Anyone ever install elements?

I just got back from the dealership asking about the heated seats...some have pads (so all you have to do is hook them up) in them, some don't.

I hade him check my '03 Disco Se7...and I've got'em!!

Scheduled an appointment for next week...should run about $77 for the parts.

 

So how do you know if you've got them? Is it in the VIN or do I need to give my seats a looky loo?

 

When I asked that at the dealership, they said that it was kind of a crap shoot....there really was no rhyme or reason, but that a lot of them do have the heated seat "guts".

I'm not sure what to look for, but when I took it in they were able to tell in about three minutes.

I'd just run it by a dealer.
