Default I have heated seats?!

I was browsing the british parts utah page and came across the heated seats switch kit. The page mentions that 99 and 00 models (I have a '00) came prewired for heated seats and even included the pads, the switches were just never added in the lower models.

Does anyone know how true this is? Not that it's needed now but it would be awesome for the winter to spend only $75 for some switches and a plate and keep my butt toasty!

Maybe, but here's the drawing and pix of hot seat connector. If the connector is there you could meter it to see if if seat pads attached.

Yes it is 100% true, all you need is the seat switch kit and maybe a hour of your time and your butt can be warm.
You must have leather seats and not cloth or fake leather.

Lick them, if they taste like steak, leather.
If they taste like ***, fake leather.
If they taste like stale cigarettes and beer, cloth.

Oh if it were only that easy, they have a leather look but dont seem to feel like leather. Was just wondering if there was a sticker or something somewhere that showed what options came with the vehicle from the factory.

Unless they are cloth there is a 98% chance you have actual leather.

Unless you have "S" model D2, most came with cloth or a synthetic leather and hence had no seat heaters pre-wired.

If you don't have wood trim on the front doors and above the glove compartment than you have an S model instead of an SE. Meaning there is a chance that you don't have leather seats. Most S models also didn't have front fog lights
