I heart craigslist
I have been saving for a headliner for a few months. My backer, lights, netting gone.... The last guy just ripped everything out. I found one locally that I was going to pull for $150. Cheapest I have found. I got on Craislist and found a guy parting out a 96. Just picked up the headliner.....for $40. All I need to do now is get some material. Anyone know of a good place? I don't have sunroofs, so it can be the thicker material...
I am still in shock. Saving $110 feels good. Pretty rare with these things. Guess I get my new Magnacors now..

Craigslist rocks. That's where my beater Galant came from. Guy was selling it for $180 unsure if it would run. I figured I'd part it out and turn a profit.
By the time I arranged transport and got over there he'd charged the battery and said "it just clicks so I think the engine is locked".
After I paid and he was gone I fiddled with the battery and found the cables loose. Tightened them and managed to get it to crank and drove it onto the tow dolly.
Had to put on two tires ($140), front brakes ($35) and do the tax, title and license ($38) and had a driveable beater.

Any fabric store or upholstery shop will have the headliner material - or you could use something else too - like fake suede.
Just be sure to not skimp on the adhesive - do some research and get a really good adhesive. You might want to ask a local upholstery shop what they use.
I used cheap stuff once and it only lasted six months.

Found a local wholesaler. They had everything. I got enough fabric and 2 cans of adhesive. Just enough.... I am waiting for it to set an hour and then I am cutting holes out and putting it up! I have been so used to a black roof that I went with black material. Think it's gonna turn out pretty cool... Post a pic when I am done...
