Default I love my disco but.....

Yesterday went to get a used rearview mirror from the local pick-a-part and I think its my bleed screw/ fill cap on top of my radiator started to spew coolant, the nice guy at the pick-a-part had a Disco 1 that I could take part from but, said its spoken for, I live in Bakersfield, no stealership to get part from, ended up driving a half mile or so to auto parts store, no luck finding part in their system, found a oil pan drain plug after an hour or so of trying different fits that seals like the plastic one I replaced.... So now my HEATER CONTROL VALVE is leaking, when the throttle is depressed. Is there a fix, get a new one, is this normal? I spent last saturday changing my radiator hoses, diff fluid front/ rear and my xfer case oil all to synthetic as per the forum recommendations. I love this truck, its just the little things that frustrate me with it.

Have a pressure test done on the coolant system. I think that will find your issue even if it is as simple as a hose or as bad as head gaskets.

I think I might have confused you, I changed my hoses, diff fluid and xfer case cause the previous owner couldn't recall ever doing it, she is a 94 disco 1 with just over 115,000 mi.

What makes you think your heater control valve is leaking? if you are hearing a whooshing/waterfall sound when you hit the gas, you have air trapped in your cooling system. Would make sense if you replaced your hoses.

Do a search on here for the proper bleed procedure after opening the cooling system.

no whoosing, sounds like it should. And yes, same as your picture greg409, I can see the slight leak on the HEATER CONTROL VALVE assembley on the top where the metal pin/ accuator sits, the fluid comes out of the hole where the metal pin sits. Went to Huntington Beach yesterday, leak was very faint on the 145 mi trip. She doesnt have many needs, fill her with premium and I'm good to go. The only thing I really need now is a new dash, crinkled like a potato chip and its bulging on the sides and on top of the radio.
