I need the forum members' advice!
Hey guys,
I'm glad I found this forum, I've read through many posts and have learned a ton of valuable information, thanks!
I've been in the market for a DII for about 6 months now, and have yet to find what I want: A 2004 Discovery SE7, white exterior, alpaca interior with the black piping with less than 80k miles for 12 grand. I'm beginning to become very impatient because I just can find one that meets the criteria. I find plenty of decent 03s but no SE7 04s. Here's what I'm currently deciding between:
1. 2004 DiscoII HSE, black ext. w/tan leather, 56k mi. price: $15,995
2. 2004 DiscoII HSE, silver ext. w/tan leather, 61k mi. price: $12,500
3. 2003 DiscoII HSE7, black ext. w/tan leather, 85k mi. price: $10,999
***this 03's VIN is not in oil pump failure range
Assuming they were all in the same mechanical/cosmetic condition, what would you guys do? I seem to be wanting an HSE for whatever reason. Is there really any significant reason to look for an HSE/7 over and SE/7? Please help because I need a new vehicle asap.
Thanks a million!

The oil pump problem (even though it is not in the range I would still avoid it) and the '04's have the CDL (center differential lock) witch will improve off road and severe weather traction.
EDIT:the third row of seats are for kids, if you put a adult back there they will kill you with the tire tool.

Ok I see, so in CA should I be expecting to pay more? I just found an 04 SE7, black ext with alpaca interior and 83k mi for $10,998 in Arizona at a dealership. Do you think it would be worth a 5 hour drive to check it out?

What you are looking for would be my choice, personally. 04 7 seater... I am the kind of person that isn't concerned with mileage. As long as the compression and oil pressure is good, you will be ok, if you are handy. Anything leaking would be something to look for..
I have 190K and she still runs like a top. It was a nightmare when I got it, but I have been able to fix everything in my driveway..
