Frank,
Do you even know the reasons for a good forum, it is to learn and for you to say that my reply was BS is not right.
You have to admit that driving for a year plus on a flashing CEL is stupid and now he has to pay the a lot more in repair then if he just took care of the original issue when warned by the CEL.

There are other ways to teach people.

For what it is worth I bought the Davico Y pipe on ebay for about 200 a couple of years ago and it works fine, though it took some bending to make it clear my driveshaft.
DiscoMike is a retired SERVICE MANAGER and is personally responsible for my Disco, and many others, being a daily driver rather than a compressed can of metal in a junkyard. Mine isn't a toy and I have about fifty thousand dollars in it, including the purchase price. I don't care how he talks... when he talks people should listen. All "big boys," and especially those with toys that cost less than my bumper and tires, probably should be able to take a little frank, brusque, talk when seeking free advice. I've been on the receiving end and ended up with a fixed Disco. Well worth it.

When DiscoMike takes the time to comment on a post, I listen. He takes an experienced troubleshooting approach. When applicable,(which is most of the time). first thing he asks is what codes are showing up, therefore not just shooting in the dark. A large number of people start buying parts, instead of getting the data needed to fix the problem. The man has 25000+ posts, of attempting to help people. LOL, if he tells me i am an idiot for something I did, and the shoe fits, I wear it.

I am 60 years old and my 3 and 5 year old girls will take you up on that offer. We do like Kool Aid, but try to stick with something with less sugar.
I have never in all my years, and all my vehicles, been to a dealer for anything except to purchase a part, that i could not get anywhere else. And so, obviously I do not have any experience with service dealers, and so I do not know what mold in which they are cut.
I do not know DiscoMike, personally, but would love to meet him, if and when i got the chance.
