As far as fluid. You can use synthetic power steering fluid or
Trans fluid DexIII, I use Valvoline max life DexIII Trans fluid, it's synthetic & works excellant,,,
Brake clean works fine. It's doesn't do anything to the plastic..

Not the same, but similar. JB weld only held for a couple weeks when I did the same repair on the Expansion tank.

I know others have better luck. I did learn not to cheap out on these Rovers. If they are were lousy when new, they don't get better as the parts age.

Re: expansion tank - yes I hear ya on cheaping out on these things, but the stock ones just suuuuuck so bad.

I found a nice universal one on amazon that's billet aluminum, and if this fails, I'm getting that.

hose adapters are cheap. I just don't trust plastic under the hood getting baked all day.
