Default I wonder where the PO hid the key for the spare wheel...

It's got a locking wheel nut but no sign of a key... not even of a toolkit

Any suggestions on where it might be hidden, before I get out the angle grinder?

lol that's kind of lame. Why not use one of those bolt out sockets? When my old nissan's locking lug key broke I took it off with that bolt out thing. fairly cheap at the hardware store.

you searched your entire car?

Well I thought I had, but I haven't checked the ashtray... will do that tonight. I looked in the jack compartment, yes. The toolkit seems to be totally absent (bought one on Ebay already)

Checked the Tool Pouch in Back door? Side compartments in the Back Area? Look in there, not only feel around. It could be hidden in the corner.

Thanks... do you mean the compartment on the inside of the back door? It's completely empty, no toolkit, nothing

Well I've resigned myself to taking the wheel nut off with some brute force and violence.

On the bright side, at least it's only the spare, not all 4 road wheels!

any good tire store has a key set, there is also a key you put together that they should have also.

Yes, door compartment, but also the side compartments in the rear cargo area. That's where I found my extra sets. I've got more locks than I need.

As mentioned above, there are sockets that will remove that nut, and also Vice Grips have worked for me in the past, as has a small Pipe Wrench.
