If you replace your flywheel...
Just a PSA on replacing flywheels. There are two kinds, as stated in the RAVE. One for older engines and one for newer. The flywheels are different; the older one requires a spacer but the RAVE doesn't show where the spacer is and states its location wrong. Also, the RAVE indicates that you can tell which you have by the location of weights. I have three flywheels... One with weights in the front (toward the engine), one with weights in the back (toward the torque converter) and one with no weights (but on inspection weight was taken out on the front). I have a Fourth one somewhere but I can't find it.
The correct order of parts for the older version is engine, flywheel, spacer, flex plate, flex plate ring. The older version requires longer bolts than the new one. The RAVE seems to indicate that the spacer goes behind the flywheel. That's impossible due to a stud on the hub.
Explaining why all of this became an issue for me and why I have so many flywheels would take too long. I just wanted to post this in case someone did a search on the issue.
Best,
Charlie V
