ignition
ok, so i hope i'm not posting something thats way down on the list here, but i ran across something last night thats bugging me! i went to pull the key out of the ignition and it was stuck. couldn't get it out, then i couldn't restart the truck. after trying a couple of times it finally started then i could turn it off and pull the key out. anyone else ever have this problem???
sounds like your trans linkage is out of adjustment...try putting the car in park, loose the 13mil nut holding the trans cable(on the trans), push the shifter all the way in park after loosening the nut and the retighted, try that
so i had some time on my lunch break today to look into the problem. i pulled up the trim bezel around the shifter and found enough pennies and dimes to buy a 20oz soda from 7-11!!!! the culprit was one penny lodged inbetween the shifter and the end where you place it in park. the shifter was being stopped from going fully into park! and the penny is bent in half!!!! problem solved!!!!!
but....another question.....where does the water usually come in at when it accumulates in the tray above the drivers side sun visor and gives you a shower when you turn a corner??!! its been pouring here in Jersey since last night and i got drenched today! is there a drain hole for the sun roof that gets clogged? it is suppossed to be sunny tomorrow, so i planned on detailing the truck and cleaning all the drain holes out. any other spots that might cause this??

There are indeed drain holes for the sunroof(s). To really be able to get to them, however, is kind of a pain as it has been my experience that the headliner needs to be taken down in order to get to all the access points of the little tubes. I had a similar issue with my Disco and I discovered that my wife and or kids didn't get the sunroof closed all the way, it was close but pushing the button made it close just a little bit more. Enough to stop the leak anyway, after I had taken the time to look for and clear the tubes.[:@]
Best of luck.

i did find some tree debris in there this afternoon, and removed that. looks like the leak stopped for now, but i'm gonna get to those tubes soon as i can. i hate leaks!
Do you have a pic of that penny?
I think that you can take a air hose and blow out the drain tubes to the sunroofs. Or maybe a really long pipe cleaner.

i'll take a picture of it when i do the other pics tomorrow after detailing it! i never saw anything like this....and i've found some strange things in used cars!
and i was thinking of blowing them out with the air...and i can do this without taking out the headliner, right?
