im gonna be a father!! omg..what car seat
Hello,
CONGRATS!!!!!!!! I have 4, so I know the feeling! Its so wonderful! Anyways, we have always used the Britax Marathon's. They are pretty pricey, but, they last for a long time. You can use them from birth all the way until they don't need a car seat anymore.. 7ish or so! We paid about 400 or so per seat, but its worth it since you only have to do it once!
Hope this helps and congrats again.

The Graco's with the clip in base will fit in your back seat in the middle. Congrats, we are having our second child in about 1 month. Sure you can buy the expensive brands like Britax or Bugaboo but the graco stuff is affordable and holds up well. Thankfully my wife stopped looking at $800 strollers and $400 carseats and decided the greico stuf was just fine.

congratulations man, my son just turned 1 in february... when you get a car seat look for one that can be used as a rear facing seat and then a front facing seat and then a booster seat, that way you only buy one seat instead of 3... oh and it will have to go in the middle of the back seat unless you drive with your seat alllll the way forward and leaning toward the wheel...
How exciting!!
I have 2 boys. When they were infants, I used the graco infant carrier that clicks into a base that stays in the car. They are very handy because often the baby will fall asleep in the car and they just stay snug in the carrier when you take them out. Then they graduated to a Britax Marathon. After that a Safeguard-n-Go which is a booster with head protection. It starts with a 5 point harness and then converts to a standard booster using the regular seat belt. Congrats!

Two other things you need to do:
1) Check the recall lists to make sure the one you're buying is ok. There's a surprising number of recalls out there.
2) Most importantly, call your local police/fire department to find out when/where the workshop is to learn how to install it. Yes they're easy to install, but you'd be surprised at what you'll learn at the workshop. If you don't learn anything new, well, good for you but at least you know you're doing everything right.
Congrats! Kids are fun!

P.S. We started with Graco for infant, went to a Britax for the next stage, and now have a Combi for booster
