Default Independent LR mechanic in Charlotte NC

Does anybody local to Metro Charlotte NC have a recommendation for good, fairly priced independent shop with experience with our trucks?

I've got a 03 D2 and also an 07 LR3. I try to do as much as I can myself, particularly with the D2 and can usually sort it out.

But, I've been chasing an air suspension issue on the LR3. I've replaced the compressor and the front end valve block without success and I'm ready to have someone else look at it! Or, even lock at a coil conversion. I'm just out of time and patience on this one.

if you are local to Charlotte, would really appreciate some recommendations on shops you've had a good experience with in the area .

One choice is Midwood Motorsports on Monroe Road. 774-212-1792. They work on older Rovers such as your D2.

The other shop is Performance Rover 704-821-5448. Located just outside the beltway off 74. This is a better shop but they have decided not to work on anything older than 2006. (with the exception of Defender). This may be your best solution for the LR3.

There is a group headed to the Uwharrie National park for the trails on Dec 5th. You are invited. Just be at the Eldorado Outpost at 9:00.

Another option is H&H Automotive in Dilworth 704-333-0628. Very good shop that works on older Defenders, Land Cruisers and Jeeps. It's a basic throwback independent auto repair shop not dedicated to Land Rover. Nice thing about this shop is you won't hear "This is an older car and we don't work on them"

If you are looking to go to coils on the LR3 this may be your best option for price.

Another reputable shop here for Rovers is Autoworks Unlimited in Huntersville. Dale Gregory and his crew there could probably do anything needed on a DII wearing a blindfold.
