RE: Induction Cleaning
Mike based on your last reply I think I may need to do this procedure. 95 Disco I with 154000, it has had mostly 89 octane 10% ethanol blend ran through it. Before you threaten me please understand that i didn't know any better until I found this site. Now I run premium. How do you go about doing the induction cleanse?

RE: Induction Cleaning
The ethonal is a great injector cleaner.
On the passenger side of the engine is a hose going from the valve cover to the intake plenum.
Remove it from the valve cover.
Start the truck and stick that hose into the can of SeaFoam, suck the can dry.
Shut the truck off and let it sit for 15 min.
Start the truck back up and drive her hard for a few miles.
You can find SeaFoam at any autoparts store.

That sounds great Mike- maybe I can talk to you on the phone some evening and get some instructions from you!
Man... I am going to buy you a dinner some time via a mailed gift certificate. You have already helped me a LOT.
I just got back from Menards- I bought a 115,000 BTU Kerosene heater that is warming the garage up as we speak. I just LOVE spending time wit the 2004... It hasn't been off the ramps since we got home. I have new oil in it, and now I want to do you 60k miles check-up just for safe measure. I LOVE this vehicle... what a pretty gal!

Not sure if your engine is exactly like mine, but on mine, there is a shiny black plastic hose coming out the passenger side of the intake manifold. It has a red ring around it. If you push in on the red ring, you can slide the hose right out. Replace the hose with a length of properly sized vacuum tubing. Using a pair of vise grips as a metering device on the hose, stick the other end of the hose in the can of seafoam. Let the can get sucked dry, and then take it for a hard drive. Incidentally, if you are planning on replacing plugs and such, I would do this first. I'm not totally sure, but I think some of the carbon broken loose may have fouled one of my plugs the first time I did this.
