Yes I ended up having the windshield replaced. Cost me about $450 installed.

I paind $120 for a new windshield for my D1. That's uninstalled. Yeah, the trim is the expensive part. I haven't put it in yet (I've changed many). I'm going to try to salvage my molding...

On another note, I wonder if there is a type of epoxy that would hold a broken mirror in place?

If there is no necessary to retrofit your rear view mirror.
Buy adhesive and glue your rear view mirror, i ever tried to glue my rear view mirror, it is not hard, and the car repair center has this kind of glue to sell. You may go to find one and have a try.
