Installing Hella's- which fuse
You could always find a spare cruise control (on/off) switch wire the relay and lights to it. Then replace the cruise control switch-face to a blank one so it sits stealthily in the cluster. That's what I did.
Agree with everything said, do not wire through your stock wiring. It's very easy to wire independently.
I'm wiring everything independently- i just want to use the factory switch in the dash. I have an independent relay, separate grounds and direct power from the battery. The ONLY thing i want to use from the fuse box is the a trigger to turn the lights on/off from inside the cabin, using the factory button provided from the factory, inside the vehicle.
So i cannot use the factory switch, through the fuse box? The light turns on when i press it, so it has power going to it. IF the switch is momentary, it still sends a signal to the ecu to open/close the relay-It already interacts with the ECU. I'm not installing the switch, it was there from the factory, along with the relay.

First, you need an on/off (cruise control switch). The factory switch will not work as it is a momentary switch.
Second, there is no reason to run your power wire through the factory fuse box. Use an aftermarket fuse block, or if you don't plan on adding any other accessories or lights, a simple inline fuse in your power wire.
