Possibly the differences in part numbers is that the '03& '04 had a different font (?) than the '99 - '02.
I also remember having a discussion on a UK LR forum that only NAS and UK instrument clusters has the option to switch from MPH to KPH by holding in the odometer button and the other countries Disco 2s won't do it.
Could be old wives tails...

I apologize for my inexperience with English sentences.

Thank you for your reply.
I know that the '03 - '04 and the '99-'02 are different.
Because it looks different.
The part numbers for the '03 and '04 are YAC001480. YAC114020 and YAC114022 are only the '99-'02.
YAC114020 and YAC114022 look the same.

My experience (in US market) has been that any 99-02 cluster will swap, and the 03-04's will swap.

In the US the only visual difference in 99-02 clusters is that the 99's don't have the fuel door indication (which side of the truck the fuel door is on, the arrow on the fuel gauge)

I would bet you could use any that works in your year range (ie 99-02). Just make sure it's the correct market, MPH/KMH etc etc

Thank you for your reply.
Does that mean that the 03-04 cluster can be used for 2001 Discovery 2?
Is there any problem?

There should not be any problem, but I believe that you have to replace the BCU, ECU, and cluster all together so that the odometer doesn't go into an error condition.

Even though I read otherwise, you cannot 100% guarantee that you can use the 03/04 cluster on a 2001. I tried it on my 2000, twice (both an 03 and an 04 cluster), and the fuel gauge and temp gauge did something like pegged low or high with the high temp/low fuel light on.

I even swapped the innards, but then the 99-02 gauges still wouldn't work on the 03-04 which really puzzled me.

Someone else posted here or on a board that they swapped it without issue. IDK, I didn't get that result !
