Default instrument cluster... again

Hey guys,
So I have been trying to replace my instrument cluster because on my original one a previous owner had pulled the three amigo lights right off the circuitry. I am on the third instrument cluster... but each new one I put in, some of the warning lamps will not light. On the first one, all the lights worked, except my ACE light would not come on, second one, neither my ACE or SLS lights would come on, and third same as the second, neither the ACE or SLS lights would come on.

The next cluster I get I'm going to make sure it comes from a truck that has SLS and ACE.

I don't understand why aren't those warning lamps coming on? They come on just fine on my original...

Call Paul Grant and have him pull one that is still in a vehicle that he can start and verify still is totally working

Thanks Mike. I just finished sending him an email about two minutes ago.

Do you know if when you replace the cluster, you HAVE to replace it from another Disco that has the same features for those lights to work properly?

Cluster should be wired the same, i think the circuitry on the truck would be different.

Ya this is what I thought... I even called three dealerships talking to tech guys on the phone. Several looked up replacement part #s and they are the same for all Discos (suggesting they should work regardless of what options/features your particular truck has).

But, I have tried three different clusters, and my ACE light and SLS light will not light up on them. I put the original one back in, and they light up just fine... So I am thinking my last ditch effort will be to ensure I get a cluster from a Disco that definitely has SLS and ACE and see if they work.

If they don't, then it will be time to decide if I think the three amigo lights are more important (replace cluster) or if I want my SLS and ACE lights (put the original back in)

I would understand that the plug on the truck side would not have a prong in that space if not equipped with that feature.

That would make sense. I just don't understand why the clusters I have tried then will not illuminate those warning lamps as they should...

So I got a nanocom. Unless I'm reading the screen wrong or misunderstanding what it means, it appears to have an option to turn the light on for ace. So I guess maybe the cluster does need configured. I could be wrong.

http://web.nanocom.it/download/VALEO...overy%20II.pdf

I'll have to check my hawkeye and see if the same option is hidden in there somewhere. The nanocom is SO much easier to use and has many more features. You can sync the odometer to the bcu. You can even read the EKA code. It will sync keyless remotes with just the 6 digit code, etc.

I suspected that might be the case, but I haven't been able to have anyone confirm that for me. It just seems weird that the three different clusters I have tried seem to randomly illuminate some warning lamps and not the others.
