Default Interior Light Computer Logic

My 2001 Disco decides that if I leave a door open too long, it should shut off the interior lights to save the battery. Once this has been triggered is seems to take days until my interior lights come on automatically again. Anyone know how to reset it? Can this function be turned off? Very annoying on dark camping trips.

In my buddies Disco the interior lights just quit altogether when opening the doors. It still locks fine so I'm imagining that the door switches aren't bad. That and I can't imagine that every single door switch failed. But then again I bought it like that so how would I know. Very annoying but not necessary, if you figure it out let me know

A key cycle should reset the light timer.

This is what I've found to be true, as my truck sits for days in between drives when I go out to work on it or grab something from it the lights don't always turn back on until I start it up. For camping I can't recommend an alternative light source enough, even a cheap head lamp hung from the roof does wonders, its brighter than the interior light and you can keep it on for long stretches without having to worry about your battery, super useful if you keep the back door open quite a bit as I do.

And to actually answer your question (sorry, hit the "submit" button too soon on the last post!), the interior lights are controlled by the BCU and they have no "re-programmable" options. Here is the logic chart out of the RAVE as an attached file so you can check it out.
