Hey. How's that seat mod you did holding up. I remember you put leather paint or dye (can't remember) on them a while back, and was curious about the wear over time. Truly inspirational job for someone on here that might need some encouragement...
its holding up just fine,
i have a extra set of seats that could be used as a test for you. you pay shipping and they are yours.
they are the original seats that had smoke damage, i tried to clean them but they still look dirty.... my leather dye product would work on the seats...
you can have them for free

Much appreciated, Discoman! However, I have enough projects to do on my own rig to get it in decent shape as it is. I need to pour money, space in my garage, and time into mechanicals first. Besides, my seats are actually in very good shape already. I hope someone here can use them though...
Wait, did you say "alive for good"??
LOL. You're not only talking about a Land Rover, but one that saw fit to freaking start on freaking fire in the first place.
You've got more faith than I do, Mack.
Yep, I'm in sour Rover mood today.

the oil pump failed, but it didnt drop below 8 psi... the light never came on, and the top end of the motor starved of lack of oil. the cam bearing went and then the tapping / ticking developed...
i have the motor rebuilt but the mechanic never looked at the oil pressure or the cam bearings for that fact..... still ticked, then he tore it apart again, i threw more money on useless parts and it still ticked, finally he checked the oil pressure and then it went in for another rebuild with cam bearings!!!
since the engine was out and the driverside window was down, the mechanic decided to hook up the battery and roll the window up. he also left the starter hooked up to the battery and left it laying on the frame/front axle....
when he hit the key and rolled the window up, the truck shorted out and the window switch caught fire, of course he walked away just for a minute to take a **** and when he came back to the truck it was on fire and smoking....
fire destroyed the wiring harness, driver seat, headliner, center console, a/c controls, shifter assembly, e brake and cable, carpet, and the rest of the truck had extreme smoke damage..... so much so that i had to replace the entire seating package, and paint all of the trim to hide the dis-coloration

And the mechanic didn't offer any sort of compensation?! What a Jack a$$, especially considering it was his fault. YES, lets just leave the car ON without double cheking things. Thats what causes people to crash planes... Lucky for him it was a truck. what an idiot I'm sorry but wtf...
Range Rover?? Who let Scott in here?
Don't you have some upper middle class social event to attend, or some kids to pick up from soccer? Kidding, bro.
Scott, I'm sure he probably got a nice sum of money from both the mechanic, and from the insurance company, who decided the vehicle was a total loss. Am I right, DiscoMan?
Probably, if my Disco burned to the ground I'd take the money and buy a damn Mercedes G class.
Clearly the Disco isn't a feat of modern engineering. Sometimes I wonder why I even find beauty in them... Yes... Still a wee bit sour. Sorry gents...
