Yep I had a friend go thru all kinds of time buffing, polishing his 03-04 Headlights only to have them fill up with moisture. He gave up and spent $$$$ on a new pair that lasted until he sold his 04 for a RRS.

I love the 03-04 look, but honestly can't stand the plastic vs glass.

Went to the junkyard in North Houston area - found just one D2...and boy that car has been gutted and stripped lol

Back in my college town, I was pretty much the only one to look on D2s but here in a large city the competition is obviously much more noticeable.

The only think I took was the left horn and it was free lol Might sell for $10 i guess.

Picked today genuine LR rubber floor mats with a huge LR logo for $3 each. Also got a LR badge for rear cargo door for $2.

I removed airbox and they asked $22 before tax lol - I didn't take. Then I removed the rear reflector lights (those that are inserted in the rear bumper) and they had no idea what are them, called the manager, and he said $20 per light! So it would have cost me $40 pre-tax to get 2 of those lol I said no thank you

I think I will take a break from junkyards; by tomorrow I'll have 50 listings on eBay and I feel like I should wait a little to get some cash flow back before I invest more.

Houston LKQ's are on my watch list. One pops up & I normally check it out on the day it's put out on the yard. You'll never find a sunroof because of a local shop in the Houston area that does custom work, then rim wise Houston area shops jump onto those as well. I look for seat cushions, windshield cowls, D1 wiper arms, or if for some reason I need an odd ball part for myself, but yeah in Houston good luck.

I went to all 3 LKQ locations and LR were practically gutted, which is a big contrast from the junkyard back in my town where an 03 D2 sat for weeks without anyone even looking at it lol

I can leave a pretty clean carcass.... Those have been out on in the yard for months now. The blue 03 (love that color) was actually perfect when it was first put out, but once the sunroofs are yanked out it's a ticking clock on interior parts being good.

The one in Northville? That blue one was totally stripped lol The only thing I could find was a horn button, fully intact actually lol But probably the most stripped car was a range rover - that thing is completely gutted haha

I noticed from my experience that often enough the parts have damage, really tough to find an item in a good condition. I passed on the sunroofs and their motors back home; they are expensive to ship and people generally run away once they see a $50 handling fee, never realizing that it's actually a bargain compared if they order from other sources.
