I had to laugh at the 03 D2 I found at my local BYOT Junk Yard. First it actually was in a wreck so I'm almost certain the 4.6L was in good condition when the accident happened as everything under the hood looked well taken care of. Second the owner actually installed a locking CDL from an 04 into it (gonna try to go back and grab the linkage).

The best part that just had me laughing was either they worked for Planned Parenthood or they really liked getting the care packages with Male/Female Condoms because there was about 15-20 packets with instructions on safe sex with about 5 condoms a package...... Someone had opened one up and spread the condoms out across the passenger seat lol.

Speaking of the passenger seat the person sitting in that seat must have been 300LB if not more because that seat was bent back and literally twisted on it's frame. It was an HSE7 with ACE (gonna check out the ACE pump), and SLS. The owner had installed some really really beefy looking Firestone Air Bags in the rear (I've never seen Air Springs like this for a D2). Sad it got into such a bad accident, but hopefully I can go back and grab some good parts for next to nothing. The cowl was destroyed, one headlight is decent, grill must have flown off during the wreck, 2 wheels are nothing but the lug nuts and a few spokes, but under the hood is decent. It had some very $$$ silicone hoses on it, but the darn salvage yard cut em all to drain the fluids. I also grabbed a perfect K&N Air Filter for 3.00 (still haven't killed a D2 MAF using a K&N).

Well the 03 that not a single person had touched was apparently sent to LR Heaven either yesterday afternoon or early this morning. I had gone by first on the 24th and found it there (it was not listed on their inventory). It looked like it had just arrived as it wasn't even mounted up on the usual metal rims and was sitting on the ground. I looked it over and with it being actually in a wreck I was tempted to grab the engine for 200.00 complete. I went back on the 26th while I was at lunch, grabbed the new looking ACE pump for 17.00, and the AC Compressor as it also looked fairly new. I had plans on grabbing the CDL linkage today, but I walked in and she wasn't there. All the vehicles which surrounded it were still there, but no D2. I even went up front to verify had it just been moved, or crushed. He said we never showed to have an 03 Land Rover anywhere on the yard for 2021.... Dunno what they had it under (maybe toyota land cruiser lol), but she apparently went to heaven with all sorts of very good parts including the engine, CDL linkage, cup holders, 04 TC, and all the ACE parts minus the pump I grabbed earlier. Truly a shame! I know for a fact it hasn't been there longer than a week.

Ugh that’s sad. Wonder how often that happens.

In my neck of the woods LR's do not last long at the salvage yards. More than half of them are never even hardly picked over. The D2 wasn't even there a week however a picked over 03 Xterra is still sitting there (been there for 3 months easy). I dunno the logic some yards use when it's time to send a vehicle to heaven, but they need to slow it down with the LR's.

Just got a windshield lower cowl off a very clean ‘04 D2 at Pick & Pull in San José. It’s in perfect shape. I bought a new on from AB almost a year ago and the one I got at P&P looks better - not wavy.

Also got some taillights, interior kick panels, and some clean under hood pieces.

Was tempted to pull the dash - no cracked defrost vents - but I replaced mine about a year ago too. I did get a nice center bezel and clean blower fan assy.

Headlights and fog lights were very clean, but the truck had been in a front collision so lots of broken tabs.

Check behind the Disco 2’s left headlight for the silver colored Daytime Running Light (DRL) resistor pack.
Grab em if you can find them since they are hard to find.

Silver 2002 in my neck of the woods. Any difference in parts between the 2002 and 2004?

Basically same parts but the 2002 will have different tail lights, head lights, roof bars and a 4.0L engine.
The 2002 definitely won’t have a CDL nipple unless the PO installed one.
