Just bought 95 Disco V8i 3.9 and I'm lost help please!!
Hi,
I feel your pain...lol back in October I bought a 1994 with 157,000 as a daily driver.
within 30 minutes I blew the water pump and overheated LOL
Followed by two months later of no start condition and chasing the fuel injection down to the Filter and fuel pump relay.
Now I am in the process of getting my back door to work and sent the mechanism to get rebuilt.
LISTEN IF YOU ARE IN ARIZONA CHECK FALCONWORKS OUT.....
I just sent from Florida my tailgate mech to be rebuilt and Alan the owner is AWESOME!!!! (BIG PLUG!!!!)

They seem to be super knowledgeable and are very reasonable on pricing.
Do what I did deal with the experts!!!!!!
I am using a place in Florida in Pompano called The British rover Company and they are awesome also
Then I try to do the little stuff myself and use Ebay for other parts
End result is my rover runs and runs pretty well just got done with a 200 mile round trip 2 weekends ago.
Unthinkable when I got mine......Even my girlfriend was impressed and said it is not a deathtrap any more LOL
Keep on it get the Rave manual read the forums and buy the Haynes book.
thatis what I did and now I am a Lucas Fuel injection guru and know my truck in and out.
I earned it in blood and sweat but when you are on a budget that is what you have to do.
Hope this helps

Found this shaft on ebay:

Should I buy it? Would I need anything else with it?
I got the plug out of my rear differential today, nice clean oil in there, and plenty of it so that's good. If this shaft is all I need thats about a hundred dollars cheaper than having it done at the mechanics shop. I can live with that hehe.
I ran the heater in the engine had my truck on a slight incline, watched coolant in the radiatorit was near the top, but the resevoir was about an inch low, so I filled the radiator and as I began to do that it sank down into it and "drank" a bit more coolant until coming dangerously close to the top and spilling over, so I filled the resevoir a small bit above the marker thing you guys told me about and capped them. Still get the sloshing noise for some reason. Maybe I didn't get the bubbles out, should I flush it or have the coolant flushed?

Did you fill through the bleed screw? Do you get the sloshing sound when you rev it up in park?
Where are you? I know a guy parting out a 96, I can ask him what he wants for the front shaft, if he still has it. Should be a lot less than that. Seems a little high, but I have bought from him before.
If your fluid looks good in the rear end, wait just a little longer for a better dela on the shaft...

Will do on the waiting for the shaft. The oil looks just fine. I'm in Mesa Az which is basically in the Phoenix area. There's a few things I could use off that 96 too like cosmetic stuff on the inside of it if its the same as a 95. And of course the drive shaft. Please ask him, I'll cut costs wherever I can!
I filled the coolant through the little black screw on the left of the radiator and the resevoir too. I don't get the sloshing in park only when I accellerate and drive.
