Default Just brought her home tonight.

After an absence of around 6 months I'm once again a owner of a "new" disco. Am attaching some pics. Not a great looker now but after some spit and polish some 275/75's 2" lift she will look much better. Has around 106k got it for $2700. Only ****le is the steering has masiive play in it .Looked underneath on of the ball joints is worn out will replace 2morrow ASAP. Ofcourse is leaky but hey thats why I bought it as I knew it never ran dry

BTW can anyone give me any more details of the annivesary stickers on both side of the rear quarter panels. Seached all site even googled it but no good.

Anyways can't wait to finish it take it to the desert

Well I guess wishfull thinking on my part, was thinking it might be some kind of special edition or something as my Range Rover is an Autobiography with Land Rover Special Vehicle Badge and everything, but nahh I think its just a dealer mod. Like some HSE RR's were rebadged as Autobiographys's but they didn't have LRSV plaque

Although the original sale bill says 1998 Discovery Aniversary. Fookin hell was bought for around $ 27,000 new. And excatly after 10 years I got if for 1/10th the price ...hmmmmm

Well, I remember falling in love with a 50th anniversary Discovery that was in the showroom of our local dealer with a wooden canoe on the roof that sported the land rover logo....lovely sight. Not sure if it was the only color for the special edition 50th anniversary, but it was a different green with mustard color metal flake that gave it this golden hues. It had gold pinstriping and it said 50th anniversary under the rear side windows. I think it also had anniversary badges on the front quarter panels.

All in all, that edition was responsible for my obsession with Discos from then on. In fact, when I started looking for a Disco, that is the year and model I was looking for. But 2 years ago, up here in Canada, all D1s I had seen where rusted pretty bad and I ended up with a proposition I couldn't refuse on the D2 I have now.

Congrats !!!!

But you mentioned photos ?????

Thanks mate it was exactly like the beater I just bought today when I first got it.

Now its time to turn this beater also into somthing Bad *** like old whitey.

Already have a steel bumper of a Land cruiser 100 series to modify. Whitey bumper was made from a 100 series Land Cruiser. I would get and ARB but they are pricey and heavy and plus dont like the bars going over the lights and grill.

I'm getting my hands on a roof rack for not much what ya think it would look cool, any pics somewhere with discos with R.Racks so I get an Idea.

Also is it possble to install one with out taking the current roof rails off ?

Except for the 50th anniversary greenD1 I'm talking about, I definitely think that white is one of the best if not THE best color for a D1. For some reason it doesn't come out as nice on a D2.
