I had a buddy just wrap up a BMW inline 6 swap and he plans on making a kit and selling it. It fits nicely and looks like it belongs and drives great. Not sure it's a great option for those with lifted rigs but for stock sized trucks should be a nice option.

 

or maybe the BMW inline 3.0 twin turbo diesel....? plenty of torque.....

 

Ah yes that would be my choice but the old inline gassers are like pennies on the dollar by comparison. But yes the TT diesel with the 6speed ZF auto (might be able to use a newer x5 trans which is maybe an 8spd? I forget) would be sweet. I believe I found an adapter plate to the LT230 as well a while back for it.
