Default Is it just me or is this outrageous?!

So im in the process of getting a 2" lift kit for my 1998 Land Rover Discovery I

Rovertym Springs $315.00
OME N25/ N115 Shocks $349.00
Articulation Cones $120.00
Rear Brake Lines $26.00 each
Rear Links $325.00

So a total of 1,135.00

But heres the kicker, For labor i got a estimate and he estimated 7-8 hours of work for installation of above parts. His quote was 750 dollars. W/O tax.
he charges 92 dollars a hour, He is a Land rover specialist though lol.

Whats a better choice from Rovertym This lift kit setup above or this one

Rovertym Springs $315.00
Rancho 9000 shocks $349.00
Rear Shock Mounts $155.00
Articulation Cones $120.00
Rear Brake Lines $26.00 each
Rear Links $325.00 w/bushings

Does that labor seem legit??? and the hours required?

You're looking at a lot of extra that you don't really need. All you need are the springs and shocks. The rest is just extras for more articulation and such. I got my OME lift for $800 shipped and did the install myself. Yes, that quote for the install sounds about right.

Stay away from Rancho shocks. Go with either OME or Bilsteins.

Before you go spending money on a lift have you completed the 60k service yet? You need to make sure the truck is current on maintenance and in good shape before you start modifying.

I paid 620 for HD Super Gaz Springs and Shocks self installed,, Which btw are riding great.. Order front retaining rings and be careful with your brake pipes they are expensive.. Pretty straight forward job..

How long have you owned your 98 DI? I would still complete the 60k mile service 1st. A lift wont keep your coolant system in good working order. If your brake fluid is not almost as clear as brand new brake fluid it needs flushing. TRUST us. We would hate for you to spend all that money on the lift set-up and the come back to us with issue(s) that may have been prevented with the 60k mile service.

BTW I hear nothing but great things about OME so i too recommend them. I will be getting their 2inch setup soon.

While I won't tell you to do the 60k before you do the lift, just make sure you do it on time.

As far as your lift goes, you can get the cones and rear links and such if you like but you really shouldn't need them. Our trucks have spectacular articulation from the factory, so really for a 2" lift you should only need springs and shocks.

For myself, I'll be getting a 2" lift this summer, just springs and shocks, and then longer down the road when I get a little car for a daily driver the Disco will get the Rovertym 5" lift with the extra goodies

Factory articulation on a DI is close to 24" if I remember right, DI's have a full floating axle in the rear.
You dont need new shock mounts.
The cones are only if you over extend your springs.
