K&N filters

Default K&N filters

Hello, I used a K&N filter and had to buy a new air sensor. I have friends that use them in their bimmers. I want to try it again but just don't want to loose another sensor. what cha think

I think they increase performance by not filtering as well. The damage they may do to the MAF is caused by making it dirty. Either from not cleaning the air well enough or from the filter being recharged with a little too much oil. I'll stick with conventional filters.

Stick with the paper air filter.

Your friends will eventually need a new MAF as well. Let them know that IIRC the Disco MAF may work on their 540s to save a them a few $$.

Don't stray from the paper filter unless you don't feel your experienced enough at changing the mass air flow sensor from the first time and want to get the joy of doing it again.
