Default Kalahari For Sale (not mine)

I couldn't determine if this was the proper place to post this, feel free to move it...

Saw this on Craiglist, not common so I thought I'd share it:

Nice looking Kalahari, but I’m glad it comes with the OEM wheels because the solid black 03/04 rims look fugly on it vs the OEM Kalahari Wheels. It’s been resprayed (missing LR logo’s), and the front hood is bent, but that’s small stuff as long as it’s mechanically sound.

Are you sure the hood is just not fully latched?

That would be awesome if thats all, but with the respray (at one time). I’d certainly check it out!

I could not tell if it had been resprayed but did notice that the panels did not seem to match in the pictures. I missed the badges but did notice the hood did not have the blackout. I does have the special vehicles badge on the rear and one can only hope it has the proper build plaque on the header panel. Not sure why they changed the wheels unless they got a deal on them with tires. Still looks ok and I hope he gets his price.

grill, hood, passenger rear door are different colors. Gaps on hood and drivers rear door.

I would ask for a VIN and check Carfax as well as confirm the build

I have owned two LR Special Vehicles & neither one had the plate under the hood. VIN should tell ya. Seats, interior is all correct for a Kalahari.

There are 4 special vehicles close to me and 3 of them have the plate. One is an 01 preproduction/show vehicle that is a yellow Kalahari and is slightly different than the production 02 models: I believe there were a handful of them produced.

There seems to be some inconsistencies of these.

The plates were hit or miss. Also some techs I’ve known over the years removed em to keep lol.

I’ve checked on both of mine without the plates & both were legit. 150 yellow Kalahari’s were built.

Is that a fuel switch on the left hand side of the dash next to the fog light switches??

They say the clear coat is a mess, that would explain the color issues we see in the pictures??..Comes with extra parts too, I think this would be a good rig. It definitely looks used
