Kellly Blue Book values
I just went on KKB.com to see what kind of trade in I could get for my 01 SE7 with 78k on the odometer. Pretty depressing, it shows between $938-$1,453 for trade in value. I think I'll keep it for awhile longer.
With that mileage, if condition is good, sell it yourself and get 6-8 for it
ALWAYS avoid trading at all costs, no matter the vehicle........
To add to that comment - Take a ton of pics, frame etc to hopefully show lack of rust and list that thing on Ebay with a high reserve.
You can lower the reserve along the way if necessary, but Ebay gives you a nationwide audience that will be searching by specific make/model.

People seem to be turned on by low mileage and will pay more. IMO - $5k is def too low to start out unless there are other issues with the truck.
Its $99 to list it and if you keep your reserve reasonable, it'll go in your favor to not only get the listing approved but getting the truck sold as well.
It NEEDS to be clean though and if you submit your truck to BAT, take LOTS of pictures and supply as much detail as possible of any and all service records.
If you're not familiar with BAT - bringatrailer.com - go there and search by keyword discovery and check previous auctions and their results. - https://bringatrailer.com/land-rover/discovery/
Edit - here is the last 2001 that also happens to be an SE7 that sold on BAT with 100k miles and common color - https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...iscovery-ii-2/
I think these Discovery II vehicles are at a low ebb. I routinely see them sold for next to nothing, yet we have a steady stream of them coming here for overhauls and major fix ups that run $20-40k. Since we are not the only people doing that I think it's inevitable prices will rise on the best trucks. It is possible prices for original trucks are low in view of those costs but "finished" trucks should bring more money. That said, we do not work for the resale market so much as enthusiasts who love their vehicles
Yes, .... I double the value of mine every time I fill up the tank !!!, it sad you spend hundreds, if not more, then cant sell it for a decent price, unfortunately people don't want 20 year old car that you can actual strip and fix yourself to much hard work , they want the latest Hi -Tec that does 1 - 60 in zip seconds, forgetting your only as fast a the car in front, or the legal speed limit, put it on the computer to fix it type that one problem can cost more that your car
I would respectfully disagree with this statement -

Just last month an 04 sold for $22500 - people will pay for a nice 20 year Disco - BAT proves it on the regular........
