Key fob rebuild!!!
So, last night, I rebuilt my keyfob. I don't generally lock my truck anyway, I got in that habit driving old pickups. But, my wife used to drive the Disco and, somehow, managed to destroy the keyless entry key. The rubber buttons had disintegrated and, more importantly, there was no switch for "unlock" on the circuit board any more.
So, I poked around on Evilbay and found this. 2 Button Remote Key Fob Case Shell for Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5 V8 Repair Kit | eBay
It came from China and was cheap, so I gave it a whirl.
Last night I soldered one of the included switches onto my existing board (which is, as I understand it, the part that's "programmed" to your vehicle and costs a ton of money to have a dealer do fix), put everything in the new housing and voila!!! I can now lock and unlock the doors remotely.
For $18 it was completely worth it. Took about 10 minutes and a steady hand for soldering.

P38 has a flip key. I'm not sure if the blade or frequencies are similar or not though.
In not worried about the blade. Frequencies may be the same but I'd just raver swap my key internals into an LR3 key blade.....
LR3 key has been ordered.
Jafir - From what I'm reading, the internals of our key wont fit in a P38 key.
Great news, no immobilizer chip to worry about. and if there is, its on the board.
Drowssap - LR3 key has been ordered. Will do take pictures and do a write-up
The only other option is to use a peugeot key fob, which looks nice, but i want an OEM+ look. Will start my own thread and keep you updated.
