Default The Korean Disco rip-off.

I swear this truck is a rip-off from the Discovery. For those of you who don't know how Korean manufacturing R&D works, it is a scantly-funded operation that involves taking photographs of other companies goods and then designing cheap imitations.

The day I got to Korea I kept seeing these trucks and doing a double-take because I thought it was a Disco, but no it was merely a Hyundai "Galloper". They look just like Discos, only a little smaller. Here's some pics:

It also looks like the older Isuzu Troopers and Mitsubishi Monteros. They probably got ideas from all three trucks and then came up with their version.

No, that was built under license from Land Rover.

x2 on the first thing looking more like a trooper or montero. I don't think it looks like a Discovery at all.

I really like that sporty hood scoop! I wonder if I can retro-fit that to my galloper discovery? If anyone has attempted this please let me know.

LOL I'm sure it's just an attachment that has been epoxyed on to the hood, I have to go back to Korea to finish out my tour I'll buy a box of them at a discount rate.

were those D1s built under license BY honda or were they built by land rover and then badged as hondas? I know honda likes to put its badge on other vehicles, ex. honda passports AKA isuzu rodeo

See the write up on Wikipedia. They were D1's built by Land Rover and badged Honda for Japan and New Zealand. Deal ended when BMW bought Land Rover.
