Anyone know the best way to remove the lettering on the front hood ? I need to remove the rover part letters are losing the paint the land part is still in mint condition. I was going to buy letters from a scrap yard.
Also has anyone had this problem

I havent seen the paint chip off before but I would imagine removing them would be pretty easy, unless they are actually fastened on somehow. If it was me I would get some GOO GONE and a hair dryer and go to town, just be careful obviously not to overheat your paint. Then if you want, just clay bar the area, wax it, and leave it debadged. Would look cool IMO and you would probably have a shadow outline of LAND ROVER still there.

I used this method on the rear badges for my audi...

If they are glued on, good luck re-applying them all perfectly strait...

They're stuck on w/ heavy duty double sided tape. Carefully pry the letters off using dental floss to cut through the tape. After the letter and half of the tape is removed use prepsol or goo gone to remove the remainder of the adhesive. Before applying the new letters make sure to "throughly" prep the area before setting the new letters. With that said, spend the cash and purchase a set of new letters. Dont bother w/ anything but newetters.

I would use fishing line, it's stronger than dental floss. I used fishing line to remove the "RAM 1500" letters on my Dodge truck.

The new ones are cheap and look awesome. Although they are a bitch to get on perfectly straight. Be patient, it will be worth it.
