Land Rover Brand Soft Cargo Carrier
Several years ago, I purchased (I think through the dealer) a soft sided Land Rover brand, cargo carrier. Generally, it works well but is not remotely waterproof. I think the issue is well beyond a Scotch Guard type of solution. Did anyone else make the mistake of purchasing one of these? Have you figured out how to waterproof it? I know I have tried various sprays over the years but nothing has worked. The first time I used it, I was dumb enough to believe it was waterproof and as it is on the roof I loaded it up with light items. Items like clothing, sleeping bags, etc. Miserable trip. I do like the design and like the Land Rover logo. Before I throw it away and start with something else, I am reaching out to see if someone else has been successful. Thanks.
Are you referring to like a cargo bag that straps to the roof, or a Thule-like rooftop box? I suspect that it'll be virtually impossible to waterproof it if it's just a bag, especially if it's sitting directly on the roof (as opposed to being strapped to a rack).
