Land Rover Designers were on crack. [Lug covers]
So I deiced to check out my brake pads. Grab a Lug Nut wrench. Oh wait I have to remove these caps.. Cant figure out how to remove cap. Read online I must beat the supplied lug nut wrench ONTO the cover.. WTF?
Ok fine whatever.
Go to put them all back on. Beat the wrench onto a lug nut cover and tighten.
NOW IT WILL NOT COME OFF.
Seriously Did they TRY to be stupid?

You are not supposed to beat on a socket unless of course your lug nuts are already misshapen and a lost cause. You are supposed to go out and buy a proper sized 6 sided 1-1/16" or 27mm socket and gently tap it on if needed with some spray lube to make sure you do not make your lugnut and socket permanently one.
Also the covers are not supposed to come off. And no offense but stupid is as stupid does, slow down.

LR is not the only ones who use those tin covered lug nuts, Dodge started using them too.
If you use a impact wrench to put them on the stretch and then your tire tool will not fit.
I carry a 6 point socket and a 1/2" breaker bar, a hammer and Channel-Lock's to change a tire.
Tap the socket onto the lug making sure you are square, remove it half way, take the hammer and Channel-Locks and wiggle the socket off of the lug.
Then move onto the next one.
LR lug nuts are not cheap.

If you buy these solid steel ones you will never have that problem again.
Now look on the bright side, at least you figured this out at home instead of the side of the expressway in the pouring rain at 2:36 am taking your wife who is in labor to the hospital and you got a flat.
