Land Rover Discover Manual discrepancy
I am in the process of re-building a 2003 Disco 2 4.6 L engine that lost coolant due to an expansion tank failure, so decided to check out the bottom end as well. I managed to get hold of an on-line LR Discovery manual and when checking the crankshaft con-rod diameter it appeared to be .015" under size based on the 2.2 to 2.22in given in the manual; however I fortunately rechecked it using my vernier and noticed the metric scale was reading 55.5mm the same as in the manual. I did a conversion using my phone and found 55.5mm is 2.185in., so the conversion in the LR manual is wrong. Has anyone else found other mistakes in the manual that could be costly? I assume since the LR is European that the metric measurement is correct.

I have found some torque specs differ from the torque specs list page to the repair pages in rave. and the box of bolts with threads from the block, still attached, says i, apparently, need to pay attention to those torque settings. not to mention the assortment of taps welded into sockets. slowly, I am converting my truck to sae.
