Default Land Rovers Are Cheap Now BUT UPKEEP IS NOT

As Disco get cheaper there will be more people that will buy them
and not be able to pay to keep them running right as it still will
cost like a truck that $45 when new.

I don't want to scare people away just to open their eyes .
Mileage,,,parts,,,

That is completely right. The cost of the maintenance does run high. Although I paid outright for mine, the cost of repair is like having the payment. Parts for these trucks are by no means cheap. That being said I am very happy with my Disco

I very much like mine and like you I paided for mine up front.
As I like to work on mine and can, its cheaper to maintain,, and if people
understand that from the start they will have a good experience.

I see people that buy some car that they can afford a payment but not the upkeep
that puts them in a bad place, then its the cars fault.

I hope this Post will help people think of everything and have a good experience .

The benefit of buying a used vehicle means you can choose what tires to buy, get a lift, better brakes, etc...

Buying new means you're stuck with the dealer parts unless you want to shell out some cash for new parts (to replace your new parts).

Any used car should be avoided if maintenance costs are a concern. The bad part is new cars need maintenance too and are often neglected because of the perception that new cars don't need anything.

Cheers,

Pete

And lets not forget that there are people out there who dont know or car (like my ex)that you need to change the oil, transmssion fluid, air fliteretc. It is amazing how many people think that all you need to do it put gas in the tank and go.

I've had mine since about April.

Replaced the front driveshaft, driver axle, changed tranny fluid twice, replaced MAF, spent money here and there to change small factory stuff I did'nt like, changed rear end fluids...twice. Fixed the power steering with Lucas, spent untold amounts on fuel.

But I still like it.

.... and it still costs less than my car.

Are you on the Texas Rover forum?
Rovers are great trucks and I will have a hard time finding
a replacement when the time comes in 20 years or so.
