Default leak in rocker rail

2000 disco 2
When i replace the heads and put the rocker rails, i noticed that between the heads and the rails the oil comes out. and its not coming out on top of the springs, is that normal?

Default explain

you need to explain a little better. The rockers have oil ports that need to be lined up when installed correctly. Your rockers also have a great effect on your oil pressure and need to be in speck. Scoring, miss alignment and out of tolerance on any items will effect this. you need to be more specific about what is hapening. Where your head rebuilt, did you do it or a shop how many miles......there is alot of factors....

Just by shimming your rockers can mean all the difference in oil pressure....

Default leak in rocker

the heads were rebuilt and i did it myself. i followed all the instructions from the manual that i downloaded from here. like i said the sound was there before the heads went out so i dont think i caused the problem. now as far as the rockers, on a chevy engine if you start the car with out the valve cover the oil will literaly spray every where and my disco is not doing that. i know the rockers have oil ports i know that the rail is hallow, i cleand all that and its goin thrugh but its not alot its barely dripping. i dont think i put them wrong b cause theres only one way to put them. i was wondering if there was a gasket in between the rail and the head ill try to get a pic so u can see it i know its hard to visualize it with out one. thank you for taking your time to help me out.

There is no gasket. The rocker shafts need to be installed correctly, there is a notch on one end of the the shaft that needs to be in the 1 o'clock position when installed, facing to the rear on the left head and facing the front on the right head. Incorrect fitment of the rocker shafts will lead to an oil feed restriction.
