Default Leaky hyd jack

Land Rover supplied hydraulic jack is a great little jack but mine is leaking bad around the bottom of the holding tank. Anybody taken one of these apart? I'm wondering how to get it open (without breaking it) and if there is an O-ring on it or if it's just glued in 😱

I don’t know the LR one specifically, but they typically have an o-ring and are usually fairly straight forward to disassemble.

people have also mentioned adding blue devil to help the seals. I had a small leak, and put some it, seems to have cleaned it up.

I looked into replacing the seals on my factory Coram (Italy made) jack. This video shows the tear down of the jack:

I like the factory double ram version as it is made for horizontal and vertical storage, plus comes welded with the axle cradle. However, I was not able to find a seal kit without taking too much time for trial and error research.

So I ended going with this Torin 12T jack and axle cradle adapter below on Amazon. It is a larger bottle jack that I just store in the back of the truck. The ramp tip fits the axle cradle adapter very well .

Note 1: I have tried the lower capacity jacks in the 2T to 4T range with the smaller ramp tips. They do not fit the above axle cradle adapter very well.

Note 2: There have been past mention in the forum on using the Torin Red 2T bottle jack to store in the engine bay compartment. However, this jack is only designed for vertical use, ie, I am thinking prone to leakage over time if stored in a horizontal plane, plus the constant engine bay heat is not ideal.
