Default Leaky Jack

Just bought a pristine 04 Discovery and was driving it home when I had a flat tire. Tried to jack up the car but most of the oil had leaked out around the joint between the base and the cylinder of the jack. Has anybody had this problem and successfully repaired it? Is the cylinder screwed to the base?

The jack is not reliable and should not be trusted. The jack is intended for lifting only 1 wheel of the ground and even then that's stressing it. So your best option would be not to try repair it yourself and take it to a professional if you really are set on having it. Or you could call Paul grant and buy one from him, he has good prices and will guarantee it.

Go to Sears and buy a good replacement and throw the old one away.
