Default Leaning and vibration

I have noticed that my truck seems to be leaning to the passenger side slightly. It isn't a huge difference but you you obviously see it when viewing from head-on or behind. I looked around at the suspension but nothing was obviously wrong, though I don't qualify as a mechanic by any means. More worrisome is the fact that the truck vibrates and shakes when I make corrections at hiqhway speed (50-75 mph) and also shakes over bumps. This shaking isn't limited to the moment of impact, sometimes the vibrations to the steering last a few seconds and although the vibrations are felt mostly through the steering, the whole truck shakes when this occurs. Any thoughts on what this could be or what I can look at to narrow things down?

The leaning is most likely to be a front spring that has gone soft / worn / broken. Very common on Discos. The vibration could mean your in need of a new steering damper, but you would need to have your wheels / tyres balanced first to rule that out as thats the easy fix if need be.

thanks for the info. If it is the spring, would the cost replacing one make replacing all four worth it?

If you have one broken/worn out spring you need to replace all four. If you dont the truck will ride funny.

And remember that all four springs have the same amount of wear.
Replace your shocks while your at it too.
Any muffler/suspension shop can do it.
You can too if your mechanical.

I would like to replace the springs to get some experience working on it. Is this out of my league. I haven't ever done anything equivalent to this, and although I don't have much experience on cars i am mechanically inclined. What kind of special tools would I need

For about $650, you can get a complete OME lift set up with a steering damper. This will correct the ride, make the truck slightly taller, 1.5"s or so and give a far better ride.
As for the shaking, have the drive line u-joints inspected and lubed then check the tires, if it still persists then get it to a shop so they can find the problem.
