LED H7 headlight bulbs/lamps
I have purchased some replacement headlamp H7 lamps for the D2 facelift. I'm hoping they cut down some of the unnecessary heat on the polycarbonate lens and also give a good light spectrum. I'll post how they perform after I've fitted them and they have been in place for a week or two. They also consume less power but not much as they are 50 watts each vs 55 watts standard lamps.
Kinda curious to see how this sorts out. I've been considering some of the kits I've seen for the conversion.
Is that 50 watts the equivalent light output or the actual draw. Most of the kits I've seen have had 55 watt output but a much lower actual draw 20-25 watts?

They're probably a 50w equivalent.
That said, I've seen some great examples for single filament replacement options, but the alignment on the dual filament modules just isn't all of the way there yet.

LED Headlights or NOT
The 1800LM version seems to be a good fit for the low beam, but leaves a bit to be desired for the high beam.
This is a 3200LM (supposedly) version. They market as 6400LM because there's two which is silly, but I digress. I picked eBay France, since you're in France and whatnot.

Good read on that article RacerX, looks like for the most part HID kits are still a better way to go.
Perhaps in a few years the technology will have matured enough to make them worthwhile.
