Sorry for the bad photos. This bumper wasn't made from scratch. It's a Jeep Wrangler bumper I bought on ebay for $250.00 (including shipping). I just chopped it up a bit and added the 1.5" tube on the ends to make it look more uniform. Winch mount, D ring with shackles, light mounts and it easily bolts into the factory bumper holes with a bit of welding.

I have my steel in my dads shop waiting for a bumper build... around 200$ in steel at a low price per pound, I had to buy 20' pieces though, so I'll be doing front and rear at the same time. I'm going to use:
2x4" 3/16" Rectangle Stock (wanted a slim-ish bumper)
1.5" .120 round tubing (Bull Bar)
3/16x4" flat bar (winch tray/mounting tabs)
3/16" sheet of Aluminum (Steering/Brush Guard)

All of that's just sitting on the metal rack, mocking me. Although I should start (and hopefully finish) the front this weekend though. I have some pictures of the drawings I did, I'll post to give you an idea of what I'm in for.

Dane.

Its kind've like the Safari Guard except the base more rectangular instead of it tapering. The fake brush guard and lights are just to show what the end result will look like, there will be tabs coming from the bar in front that the lights will bolt to. I like it

I like that one Dane. Do you have plans for it? I found a picture of one on the net that looks like I can probably build without too much trouble. If it is your's nice and hope you do not mind me using your picture in this post. Couple of things I would change but looks pretty straight forward.

I do have the plans, but I'm not 100% sure that they'll be accurate

I can explain to you what it is in detail and you'd cut the pieces to fit, you could get 1 piece of 12' 2x4 wood and make a mockup. I think the bull bar and skid plate make it look good.

Whoa, that one in the picture is exactly what I'm looking for... Would likely make a couple changes, but right up my alley nonetheless.

Are you saying that plans exist for this? I know you probably don't want a dozen people copying your stuff, but some help from someone who's done this before would be fantastic! Does the bumper just bolt to the truck? I haven't taken a close look yet...

Black powdercoating would look great and not break the bank....

QuakerJ which one are you talking about? The pics I posted or Dane did? Also, Dane are you willing to share your plans?

After I build mine probably lol
I'm starting today, hopefully the guy who has a tube bender will be in today. I could also draw you one if you want to change something, I mean, I have a lot of free time on my hands while waiting for class.

Haha. Come on Dane I am in Cola, SC and QuakerJ is in CO. Pretty sure we won't run into each other and look like tools. Haha.
