Well with solid axles your going to have a wheel or two in the air.
If you watch when the Tundra does it the front wheels stay on the ground but the rear has one wheel in the air.
But lets not confuse indepentant suspension with traction, just because a wheel is on the ground doesnt mean that it has traction.

You will get more flex if you disconnect your swaybars. Some quick disconnects work good. I don't offroad my Rover that hard so I am not using them. I removed the sway bars from my 69 Nissan Patrol and it made a huge differance.
