Lift
Hi Guys,
RTE sent the wrong shocks with my lift kit. It's looking like it could be awhile before the proper shocks arrive. In the meantime, I'm looking to go ahead and install the 2" lifted coils using the stock shocks. Is this possible? Thanks for the help,

Thanks for the responses.
DiscoMike: They sent me standard Bilstein shocks for a 99+ Disco (Part #'s 24-060479 and 24-060462) instead of +2" shocks. Also, the front shocks have bolt holes on both sides rather than the "post" type the Disco II uses. I would need adapter plates to mount the shocks that were delivered.
yloDisco: I'm not sure how long it will take RTE to deliver the proper shocks, but when I placed the order RTE informed me that the Bilsteins were back ordered until late July. That's why I was so surprised when a shipment arrived last week -- albeit the wrong ones.

But having just gone through the lift install process, the front shock/spring removal and replacement was the most time consuming part of the process and I would rather not ever have to do it again
I wonder if they could just cancel that part of your order and you could find shocks elsewhere?....As a sidenote, I've got some Bilstein 5100's on my FJ40 and they are great.
I really wanted Bilsteins and I made that clear when placing the order. However, I still have quite a bit of life left in my stock shocks. I'm thinking I could get by for another 10-15k miles on them if it wouldn't screw something up having stock shocks with 2" lift coils. That's why I was thinking I should go ahead and install the new coils.
