Default Lift?

Hey guys,
Well my springs are dying and the car kinda rides like a boat, sways a lot over bumps and all, which I know is normal, but is more than normal... If that makes sense...

Anyways, I need to get new springs soon and I'm thinking of using this as an "accuse" to get a lift. I am going to be getting a 2" lift for sure. The shocks were already replaced with factory shocks a little while ago and they are fine. So my only question is, would I need to get new shocks along with the lift?

Thanks,
Breck DeHart

The stock shocks might fit, but they will be extended out and won't work how there designed to. I would defintely go with a shock that is designed to fit the lift.

Ok, thank you very much. If I were to install the 2" lift than later put on the shocks, would that be ok as well?

It is going to be cheaper to buy a lift kit than to buy the lift and then the shocks later.

They'll work just fine! Ignore the nay Sayers... And mike.. They will bottom out however but only in extreme cases with the sway bars detached.
Oh and excuse

My previous set-up OME 2" lift and stock shocks would bottom out if I went tad to fast over speed bumps.

I would take the advice and insall it is a kit. You'll def. get better pricing. Just my two cents.

Ok, thank y'all both. I found some coils for a good price a little less than an hour from my house, almost brand new. I asked this question because my only concern with buying the whole set is that I actually would be saving money in the long run, buying them separately. I'm getting 4 coils (2 front, 2 back) for $215 they are Rovertyme and from what I read they're nice. I've been reading up on how to do it and it doesn't seem out of the question for me to install them myself (hopefully I can do it haha).

If you are getting used springs then dont worry about the shocks right now.
Keep in mind that a 2" lift on a bone stock truck may sit alittler higher than the rated 2".
But I agree that for normal driving your OEM shocks will be fine.
