Lift
My friend sold me his 2in lift for $125 but its only the springs will i need new shocks for it or are the stock land rover ones good enough? also is this a DIY friendly job?
I recommend getting new shocks if you are on the original stock shocks.
Another suggestion when you have to re-install the shock towers... rotate the towers 180-degree so that is easier to get the top bolt for the shock absorber mount back in.
Here are some of the best videos out there for the installation process:

You can change the shocks later on. It's just a little easier to replace front shocks when you are installing a lift since you have to pull the old ones anyways to get the spring out and out.
Besides a few sockets and wrenches, you just need atleast 2 jacks or 1 jack and a good jack stand for the job.

I wouldn't install larger tires without replacing the shocks... It'll beat you to death with more unsprung weight if your shocks are bad. Plus, it will cause excessive wear to new tires... Save and do it all at once. You'll save time, and ultimately, money...
